So today was a fine day. Woke up particularly early to study and decided to do it at the heart of the city over coffee and a bad tasting chicken turnover. (Sorry 'bout that, I don't want to lie.) Forcing my feet up, went outside the coffee shop, feeling the crisp, cold summer air on my face which traveled towards me whole body making my feet numb. (Why do i have to write that?) I faced today's challenge, that is going to work with a light head due to a sleepless night (SCREW YOU FINALS WEEK! SCREW YOU!!) As the hours pass, and because i was really consumed of what i was doing, I haven't noticed it's break time already. Surprised, I decided to eat my lunch with my office mate. Just when I was about to think of today as another routine of my slightly boring life, after opening my Facebook, I switched on my curiosity side that urged me to write this post. (I will explain how I came to that later but I know you'll figure out why I wrote this blog in no time.)
Okay, so i opened my Facebook, doing the same thing; scrolling, scrolling, scrolling and more scrolling (Yes, so boring it killed the cat.) Just when i was about to log out, a post instantly caught my attention. More of like curiosity than amazement. The post was a picture of a friend, a co-worker when I was still teaching Korean kids English (I know, Hey I got friends too, you know) and a another female. Then when I opened the link, I was so appalled to know the link source came from Yahoo! and that it was an article my friend wrote that was featured on Yahoo! one of the biggest search engine dominating the internet. I was, okay, amazed. I mean, who would not be? seeing someone you know got featured on the internet because of what she wrote. Her article contains the subject that Yahoo! asked it's reader, "Who inspire you" and Yahoo! was asking its readers to write about someone who to them, aside from their mothers, inspires in more ways than one. These are women who contributed and have touched their lives. Well, my friend wrote that other than her own mom, it's her Boss (the other female who is beside her on that photo) and said even captioned "#SheInspires: my boss is also my guardian angel" and my friend narrated how kind her boss is. Aside from her boss being a strong woman, my friend sees her boss as a person she can always depend on when rough times comes along just like what she said on her article. (You can check the link here to read the whole featured article. My friend is the one wearing an ID)
You see, people come into our lives for a reason, and as for my friend the reason is obvious. So after reading (Okay, reading it many times...), I was caught off-guard of the question below the article which says "who inspires you?" and somehow meditated upon it for a couple of minutes. I was thinking, rather deeply, and asked myself the same question, "WHO ELSE IN THIS WORLD INSPIRES ME ASIDE FROM MY SUPERWOMAN MOM?" (even though we fight, all the time. HAHAHA) Then, just like a flicker of light an image instantly appeared inside my head and knew she has always been an inspiration to me ever since I came to know and understand everything (well, almost) about her.
There's no point of describing her because she is one of a kind. Way back, I would have not written this blog about her but thinking about it, why not? After all, she's my sister.
Yes, my sister. She inspires me in ways she never would have figured out herself and will never know why. (Hey sister if ever you happen to read this blog which you will, don't you dare cry a tear, or else. HAHAHAHAHA)
My Inspiration's Profile(or my Sister)
Name: A secret...
Age: Errrrr, HAHAHA,
Occupation: Nurse (but not for long. HAHAHA, another inside joke)
Best Asset: Beauty and Brains (which my Tatay dubs "A deadly combination")
Favorite thing to do: SLEEP
Fast forward. Actually i don't know why my brain decided to make her as an inspiration, maybe because she has all the things that I look up to. She's smart, and for all you know smart is sexy. She possesses a never-quit attitude even though at times things are making her crumble to her feet. She has a positive outlook on life, an optimistic. Wise, and has a heart that's bigger than her. She was always generous not only of material things, but also of her time, effort and love for her family. She was never selfish to me as my big sister, and to tell you honestly, she did her job as an older sister perfectly to me. It is in her that I see, when you give up, you gave up on yourself. Her strength, most of all, inspired me to be great and to do great things. She is inspiring because of the things she does with utmost finesse and grace. That's her. That's my sister.
No, this will not end up on Yahoo! as much as I would like to but I'll be keeping this to remind me how lucky I am. And yes, because "#SheInspires: My sister with a big heart."
* BOOYAAAAH sister! No, your birthday is not over yet. I know you did not expect something like this. But how else can I express myself than writing. Well, Happy Birthday! (belated that is..)
